REX SCOTORVM reverse depicting a solid long cross with seven point stars in two opposing quarters and two six point mullets in the other two quarters. Possibly class E (Spink 5056) or class D (Spink 5057). Possibly the mint of Perth (26 points on the stars and mullets).

A medieval Scottish silver cut halfpenny or farthing of Alexander III of Scotland (1249-86), First Coinage 'Long Cross and Stars' type (not further defined, Spink S5042-8), dating to c.1250-80, mint and moneyer uncertain. Ref: Spink 2003: 16.
The coin is in poor condition with a tear in the flan. The straight edges of the coin suggest it is a cut fraction but it is not entirely clear whether this should be a cut halfpenny or farthing given that these edges are slightly irregular.
