An incomplete silver Scottish groat of David II's (AD 1329-1371) light coinage (type IIa) or Robert II (AD 1371-1390) first period (type I-IIIa) dating to the period AD 1367-1385/6. Obverse legend: [+DAVID or ROBERT D]EI [GRA R]EX SCOTORVm; Reverse legend: VILL/AED/InBV/RGh; outer legend: [Dn]S P/TECTOR/m[S F LIB]/ATO[RmS]. Mint of Edinburgh. The coin is bent in half along an axis of 10 o'clock.
