An incomplete (clipped) silver medieval penny of Stephen, dating to the period AD 1135-54. Uncertain mint and moneyer. Martin Allen (pers. com.) comments: 'this is type 206 in R.P Mack's 1966 article on 'Stephen and the Anarchy 1135-1154'. Mack only knew of one mostly illegible coin, and he was unable to suggest an attribution. North did not list the variety. This new coin (EMC 2018.0131) is also largely illegible unfortunately.'
