A cut quarter penny of Aethelred II, 978 - 1016 AD, long cross coinage, circa 997 - 1003 AD (North no. 774). The rev. inscription reads FRYD which makes this a very likely coin of AELFRYD at Canterbury or London (see Hildebrand page 41), though this is not absolutely certain.

A silver cut halfpenny of Aethelred II (AD 978 - 1016). Crux type dated more specifically to between AD 991 - 997. Some damage has occurred resulting in a further 15% loss to the surviving half. The mint begins with an L (Lincoln or London) while the moneyer's name ends in -ulf, of which there are a number of possibilities. EMC 2006.0100
