A fragment of an Early-Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) silver penny of Cnut (1016-1035), dating to the period 1024-1030. (North 1991: 168, ref: 787). Hild. G. The inscriptions are missing due to breaks or clipping.
Obverse: [ ]; Helmeted, draped and cuirassed bust left, sceptre in front.
Reverse: [ ]; Short voided cross united at base by two circles, in centre a pellet. In each angle a broken annulet enclosing a pellet.
Length: 11.5mm; width: 6.7mm. Weight: 0.18g.
