A silver Post Medieval coin; a half groat of James I (AD 1603 - 1625), second coinage (AD 1604 - 1619). The initial mark is illegible. The large crown on the reverse indicates a date between 1604 and 1609. See North Volume II (1991) number 2104 on page 146. The coin is slightly creased at the edge. It is 16.39mm in diameter, 0.63mm thick and weighs 0.84g.
