Obverse: ELIZABETH.D.G ANG FR ET HI REGINA; Crowned bust left with a rose behind the head. Reverse: POSVI/DEV AD/IVTORE/M MEV (I have made God my Helper); Square shield on long cross fourchée dividing the inscription with date of 1572 above shield. Diameter: 24.0mm. Weight: 2.48g. DA=12:12. North, J.J. 1991. English Hammered Coinage, Volume II, Edward I to Charles II, 1272-1662. Spink & Son, London.
