A Post Medieval silver sixpence of Elizabeth I (AD 1558 - 1603). Second coinage, initial mark: ermine dating to AD 1572 - 1573. The coin is dated AD 1573. Minted in London (tower). North (1991 Vol 2) no.1997. The coin has been bent, resulting in a split on the reverse face. The break appears fresh and has probably been inflicted as a result of ploughing. The coin is 24.94mm in diameter, 0.79mm thick and weighs 2.6g.
