A Roman silver denarius of the Civil Wars dating from c.AD 68-69 (Reece period 3). FIDES PRAETORIANORVM reverse type depicting clasped hands with the legend in two lines, above and below. Minted in southern Gaul. As RIC I (2nd ed.), p. 213, no. 121.
The coin has been struck slightly off centre on both sides but is otherwise in good condition. Although there is evidence of some damage or flaking to both faces of the coin it is unclear whether this is a result of it being plated. It is 17mm in diameter and 2mm thick and weighs 3.22g.
