Medieval silver penny of William II 'Rufus' (1087-1100), Cross in quatrefoil type minted by Dunning (DVNIC) at Hastings, 1089-1092 AD, BM ii, North 852. Obverse double-struck. Although the EMC records several coins of Dunning (sometimes expanded as Dunninc) minted at Hastings for William I none are record on the EMC for him under William II. Martin Allen (pers comm) however knows of three or four examples of this ruler/moneyer/mint combination. One in the British Museum (BMC 88) and two or three in private hands.
