An incomplete and pierced silver penny of Henry VII (AD 1485 to AD 1509), 'Sovereign' type dating to the period AD 1494 to AD 1501. Issued by Bishop Richard Fox at the Durham mint. C.f. North (1991). vol 2, p103, no 1731. Diameter: 16.64 mm Thickness: 0.38 mm Weight: 0.6 g The coin is missing a section of the outer flan between 1 and 4 O'clock on the obverse. The flan is pierced from the reverse to the obverse at 6 O'clock on the reverse.

D/R to either side of shield, mitre above Reverse inscription: CIVI/[TAS/DVR]/hAM. Coin is folded vertically and has open radial crack along fold at about 1 o'clock extending about 4mm.  It is 10mm diameter and weighs 0.5g.
