A complete, worn Medieval silver long cross penny of Edward II , AD1307-1327. Minted at Durham, likely by Bishop Beaumont, (c.1317-1333), the initial mark is a lion with a lis to one side. The obverse shows the crowned bust facing, with a smaller, flatter crown and spearhead inclined left. The inscription reads ED [WAR ANG] LD [NSHy]B but is heavily worn.The reverse shows a long cross dividing the incription with three pellets in each quadrant.
