A worn and clipped 15th-century silver medieval penny of Edward IV (Second reign, 1471-83 AD) struck in Durham on local dies under Bishop Lawrence Booth (1457-76 AD). Its distinguishing marks allow for identification as North 1663; it must have been struck between 1471 and 1476 AD.

Medieval coin; Struck silver penny of Edward III, fourth coinage, post-treaty period dated to 1369-1377. Durham mint. Initial mark is indistinct but seems to be a cross fourchee. Struck hard so the cross shows through on the obverse. Obverse portrait quite worn. Obverse also off-set so the bottom of the design is missing from the coin.
