An extemely worn and mis-struck silver medieval long cross penny of Edward III, fourth coinage and pre-Treaty Series C dating to 1351-1352 and struck from locally made dies. There is a reverse-barred Roman N to the obverse and a crozier on the end of the upper arm of the long cross on the reverse.

It has crosses over the crown. The coin, which is worn and abraded, has a diameter of 12.82mm, a thickness of 0.81mm, and weighs 0.47g. Much of the edge of the coin is missing.

An incomplete medieval silver penny of Edward III (1327-77), Fourth Coinage, Pre-Treaty Period, Series C, D, E or G dating to AD1351-61, mint: Durham (North 1150, 1159 1170 or 1221/1). Ref: North 1991: 50-54; Wren 1995: 88-94. The coin is damaged, missing a fragment comprising c.20% of the flan, broken away leaving irregular edges. The coin is also very worn and clipped. Its identification as a penny of Edward III's Fourth Coinage is based on the crozier as a cross end on the reverse before CIVI and the end of the mint name as MIE (i.e. DVNELMIE).
