A silver penny of Edward III (AD 1327-1377). Class Gd, large annulet stops, dating to AD1356-1361. Mint is Durham.
Obverse legend reads: + EDWARDVS.REX.ANGLI [F], depicting an unclear forward facing crowned bust. Reverse legend reads: CIVI/TAS/DVR/EME. , depicting a long cross (crozier terminating to one arm - curving to right as viewed/left on coin - adjacent to the 'C' of CIVI) with three pellets per quarter. All of the stops on the obverse and the one on the reverse are single large annulets. Die axis is 3 o'clock. Weight is 1.08g, diameter is 19.1mm.
