An extremely worn Medieval silver long cross penny, possibly of Richard II or III (c. 1377-1399, 1483-1485). The majority of the legend on both faces has been completely worn away and due to the degree of wear on the coin it is difficult to confidently identify the mint or ruler, however the presence of a possible 'D' in the centre of the reverse long cross indicates that this coin was minted at Durham under Richard III.
