A medieval hammered silver groat of Edward IV (1461-70). This coin is from the light coinage of 1464-70 with the sun mintmark that further refines the date to 1467-8. The obverse has the facing bust with the letter 'C' (for Coventry) on the breast and quatrefoils at neck, all within a tressure of nine arches. The reverse has the long cross fourchée dividing the legends with three pellets in each angle.
The coin is in fair condition with the obverse being struck slightly off centre with clipping to the rim.
