A silver cut half of a voided long cross penny of Henry III (1216-72), Class IIIab (1248-1250), with ligatured NR in obverse legend and AR in reverse legend, moneyer Ion at the Carlisle mint. The penny is cut neatly in half but also has a triangular chip missing out of one quadrant. The coin has been cut so that only the top part of the king's head is visible.
