A copper-alloy Roman nummus of Arcadius (AD 383-408), dating to the period c.AD 395-402 (Reece period 21). VIRTVS EXERCITI reverse type depicting the Emperor facing, head right, in right hand spear, left rests on shield. Victory to left crowns him with wreath and holds palm in left hand. Mint of Alexandria(?). cf. RIC X, p. 247, no. 75.
