A clipped silver penny of Edward I (1272-1307), dating circa AD 1280-82  The portrait on the obverse is extremely worn. The legend reads DW R ANGL DN. The Ns are reverse barred.  The reverse bears a long cross design with three pellets in each quarter. The legend reads VILL ABR (clipped) IE. The E is closed.  This identifies the coin as Type 2B in Withers (2006, p. 22) Measurements: Diameter: 18.5mm Weight: 1.27g Die axis:  3
