Early Roman coin: silver denarius, probably of Mark Antony as imperator, galley obverse, issued between 32 and 31 BC. This is an example of the 'legionary' coinage struck under Mark Antony to honour the legions and praetorian cohorts. Unfortunately the coin is very worn, and the reverse type, and any inscriptions are illegible, such that the details of the legion honoured on the coin are illegible.

A Roman republican silver coin; a denarius of Mark Antony struck at a mint moving with him in the Eastern Mediterranean (32 - 31BC). It has a diameter of 18.1mm and is 2.2mm thick. It weighs 3.27g. This coin is part of the 'legionary' coinage, produced to honour the 23 legions and other cohorts. Different varieties celebrate different legions. This example is dedicated to the second legion.
