A silver Roman Republican coin; a denarius issued by Mark Antony and Marcus Barbatius Pollio, dating to the period c.41 BC (Reece Period 1). CAESAR IMP PONT III VIR R P C reverse type depicting bare head of Octavian right. Travelling Mint with Mark Antony. RRC, p. 525, no. 517/2. This coin comes from quite a significant issue, there being 129 obverse and 143 reverse dies recorded. This coin was issued at a time when Mark Antony and Octavian were operating together, before the later split and ultimate civil war.
The coin is 18.8mm in diameter, 1.8mm thick and weighs 3.48g.
