A heavily worn and eroded probable struck copper alloy jetton of later medieval date. Both faces of the coin are heaily worn and a light green polished shiny patina is present, both these factors make identifying the coin in more detail difficult. The obverse is almost completely lost and the identification is based on the partial renains of a lis termialled tripple stranded cross on the reverse. Such crosses are most often associated with Jettons struck in tournai during that later 14th and 15th centuries. Diameter 16.3mm. Thickness 1.5mm. Weight 3.9 grams

Copper-alloy French jetton minted at Tournai, AD 1497-1521. Obverse shows three circles of Tournai, reverse shows a cross. The inscriptions cannot be read. There is a square pierced hole cutting through the edge of one circle on the obverse, and neatly in one quarter of the cross on the reverse. English jettons at this time are always pierced to distinguish them from coins. Compare YORYM-2AF7A9 (also pierced) and BERK-C96E20.

A worn and incomplete copper-alloy Jetton, probably originating from Tournai and dating to the 15th century. The obverse of the jetton is extremely worn and none of the details or legends can be extrapolated. The reverse is also extremely worn, although a voided long-cross with a fleur de lys in each quarter can be discerned, in addition to part of the legend. The jetton has been perforated slightly off centre, possibly for suspension or stringing along with other examples. The object is 22.05mm in diameter and weighs 1.5 grammes, demonstrating a patchy greenish brown patina.
