Obverse legend reads: M[I]HI[EL rosette] POLET rosette LA [F]ET, depicting Fleur de lis with rosette above and small flowers accosting: all in 13-arched tressure. Obverse; tower of Tournai with two fleur-de-lys above, set within a six arched tressure with small trefoils on the cusps, SIT IIOIIIEII BOIII I II I. Reverse: Cross patty with flower in each quarter, SIT IIOIIIEII DOIII I II I. Both legends can be translated as "sit nomen domini (benedictum)" or "be the name of the Lord blessed"). A complete copper alloy Tournai Jetton dating to the late Medieval to Post Medieval period (AD 1497 to AD 1521). The obverse depicts three circles each containing a quatrefoil and the reverse depicts a broad cross pattee with a quatrefoil and lis in alternate angles. The jetton is a mid-green colour with an even surface patina. Comparable examples recorded on the PAS database include: WMID-663785; PUBLIC-CBFBE1; and WAW-C0BF8F. The overall dimensions are as follows: 27.05mm in diameter, 1.94mm in thickness and 6.02g in weight.
