A complete copper alloy medieval French 'Crown' jetton struck during the reign of Charles VII (AD 1422-1461) of France, with the religious legend on the obverse: AVE.MARIA.GRASIA.P ('Hail Mary full of grace'). The are letters across the band of teh crown, mostly obscured by wear, but possibly ' M A[VE]'. This jetton is not listed in Mitchiner but is similar to cf. Mitchiner 1988 no. 539. Struck at Tournai between AD 1422-1437. The jetton has been pierced at 10 o'clock on the obverse.

Medieval copper alloy Tournai jetton dating to c. AD 1500 to 1525. Rose shield of Tournai varient / cross potent with ficticious legends. Minted at Tournai. Varient on Mitchiner (1988, 237) no. 718 and Mernick and Algar (2001, 238) no.179. Unlike the common type which has two angled fleur de lis and a trefoil this example has three fleur de lis on the lower part of the shield below the three roses in chief. LVPL-039822 on this database is similar.
