Irish silver penny of Henry III, Dublin mint, dated to AD 1251-54. Obverse: Crowned bust facing forward inside a triangle, king holds sceptre, crown central fleur has pellet ornaments. Hair has three curls each side, which is diagnostic of Class IIc of the Irish coinage. Three small pellets below crown. Inscription: [hEN]RI/CVSR/EX/III. No visible I.M. Reverse: Voided long cross type reverse, with three pellets in each quarter, also pellet at centre. Inscription: ARD/OND/IVE/[...] AR and ND are ligated. Moneyer was Ricard of Dublin. 18mm diameter, 1.34g.
