Silver coin. Hammered penny or halfpenny of an indeterminate later medieval English ruler, very worn, pierced from the reverse [at one end of the long cross]. The piercing lies at 3 O’clock on the obverse, so display of the royal image does not seem to have been intended. Possibly York mint issue of 1422-1509 Obverse description: facing bust with an open crown whose ornaments appear to touch. Reverse description: long cross, three pellets in each angle, central quatrefoikl. Diameter: 14.4mm, Weight: 0.55gms
