A modern replica of the early medieval 'sword' type pennies of Eric Bloodaxe (c.939-54) dating to c.AD952-4. Struck on a very round flan its weight is too high at 1.64g (the weight standard used for the original issues was 1.4g) and the quality of the die cutting is lower than on the original coins. Possibly related to the Ashmore Replicas of the 1970s and 1980s.  Measurements: diameter: 19.81mm; thickness: 1.25mm; weight: 1.59g. There are only two examples of this coin on the database: LANCUM-2C5698; and LANCUM-2BC4D7.
