An incomplete early medieval silver penny of St Peter of York, two-line/horizintal type belonging to Phase 2 of the coin age, dating c.AD910-20 (North 553), mint: York. Ref: North 1994: 116.
The coin is in poor condition, badly chipped around the edge and missing about 40% of the field and inscription. Its weight (0.7g) would be consistent with a penny of this type.
