An early medieval chipped silver penny of Edward the Confessor of the 'expanding cross' type, mint of Stamford, struck between 1050 and 1053 by the moneyer Faegrim. The obverse has a left facing bust with sceptre and the legend EDW [---] REX, the reverse has a short expanded cross with two central annulets with pellet centre and the legend F[AE]GRIM ON STA[MFORD]. The coin corresponds with North number 820-4.
