Silver coin. Penny of Charles I (1625-1649), possibly Shrewsbury mint issue of 1642 with contracted legend and untidy lettering. Pierced with a regular neat round hole from the reverse at 12 O'clock obverse. Obverse description: [bust left], I behind head; no inner circle. Two pellets precede legend. Obverse inscription: CAROLVS D.G.M.B.F[--]T.H.RX Reverse description: Arms in Cartouche. Reverse inscription: IVSTITIA.THRONVM.FIRM[AT] Diameter: 14.1mm, Weight: 0.44gms, die axis: probably 9
