An incomplete Medieval silver penny of William I (1066-1087) dating c. 1072-1074. Two sceptres type: Class BMC 4. Probably minted in Northampton and struck by Godwine. As Spinks 1253 and North (1991) no: 844.
The flan is split and bent with a section of the outer edge missing.
Measurements: Diameter: 18.36mm; thickness: 0.68mm and weight: 1.12g.
