Silver coin. Short cross penny, class 5b issue for John (1199-1216), issue of 1204-1209. The coin is weakly struck on a large flan. Probably Northampton mint by moneyer Adam though initial cross potent is odd for class 5b [contradicting Wren 1992].
Obverse description: Facing bust; with sceptre left mouth, chin pellet and round collar the most prominent features.
