A fragment of an early medieval Islamic silver coin. It weighs 0.54g. It measures 13.06mm x 7.64mm x 0.96mm. It dates from the Islamic Abbasid period (750 - 1258), and part of the date in Arabic (written in Arabic letters) is visible. It seems to be early AH 190s, the period of Harun al-Rashid (AH 170-193/AD 786-809), probably mint of Samarkand. It probably reads AH 193 which is AD 808. Only a fragment of the coin survives. This coin was found with other objects suggesting an Early Medieval trading site, and so is probably an ancient loss.
