MAG.BR.FRA.ET.HIB.REX These coins Irish issues produced by James in his war to reclaim the throne from William III and are known as gunmoney pieces as they were made from guns and other ammunition melted down to pay James’ troops. They were tokens to be exchanged for silver coins at the end of the of the war.
