An incomplete, silver Irish Medieval penny from the reign of Edward IV (AD 1461-1483). Possibly 'Heavy Cross and Pellets' coinage (c. AD 1465). Possibly Drogheda mint. There are segments that have been clipped around the edge, including from 12 o'clock to 1 o'clock and from 2 o'clock to 4 o'clock.
Obverse description: Crowned bust facing forwards.
Obverse inscription: [EDWA]RD [DI] [GR] [DNS] [HYBE].
Reverse description: Long cross pattee with three pellets in each angle, a rose at the centre.
Reverse inscription: VI[LL]/A DE/[DRO]/[GhE].…

Silver Irish long cross penny of Edward IV, Second Reign (1471-1483), Light cross and pellets issue (1473-1478), with a pellet either side of the crown and a worn pellet to the right of the bust on the obverse and a quatrefoil with pellet in centre of reverse. The coin has been heavily clipped all round the edge and the inscription is missing altogether on the obverse and part of the reverse legend is visible: VILL/[...]GhE which suggests the Drogheda mint, Spink 6373.

Silver Irish penny of Edward IV (1461-1483), Light "Cross and Pellets" coinage dating from 1473-1478, Group VI, mintmark rosette (looks more like daisy with rounded petals), Drogheda mint with a pellet on either side of the crown and a larger pellet to the right side of the neck and a possible rosette to the left. The coin is clipped so that only parts of the legends survive and it has since broken into three pieces. The reverse has a plain cross so the closest match in Spink (2002) on page 135, is no.6374.
