A silver Scottish Medieval coin; a penny of James I (1406 - 1437), Class C2. The coin was minted at Aberdeen. It does not match any of the coins in Spink Volume II (2003), Coins of Scotland, Ireland and the Islands, but an example of the same coin though from different dies is held in the National Museum of Scotland. Nicholas Holmes (Research Associate, Numismatics at the National Museum of Scotland) comments that: "[this is] a very scarce coin, and in unusually good condition for the issue.
