A Post Medieval, hammered silver James I (1603-1625) half groat. Second coinage (1604-1619). Obverse: Rose with crown above. Inscription: I.D.G ROSA (S)INA SPI(NA). Reverse: Thistle with crown above. Inscription: TVEATV(R) V(N)ITA (DEUS). Mint mark: Mullet. Mint name: London. Die axis: 9 o'clock. Full flan slightly distorted by agriculatural machinery, very worn fair condition especially the reverse and heavily tarnished. This is likely to date to 1611-1612. Ref.
