This is a copper alloy Nummus AE3/4 of the ‘Urbs Roma’ type celebrating the anniversary of the founding of Rome. The obverse depicts Roma, the goddess of Rome with the reverse featuring the she wolf with Romulus and Remus, the mintmark in exergue is possibly ‘PLG’ for Lugdinium or Lyons, France. The coin was struck after AD 330, during the reign of Constantine I (the Great). There is an overall dark brown/green patina.
