A white metal plated copper alloy contemporary copy of a denarius of Augustus dating to 2 BC - AD 4 (Reece period 1). CAESAR AVGVSTVS DIVI F PATER PATRIAE obverse depicting a laureate bust facing right. AVGVSTI F COS DESIG PRINC IVVENT reverse depicting Gaius and Lucius standing front, each with a hand resting on a round shield and a spear, and in the field above, a lituus right and simpulum left (in "b9"-like formation). Imitating original minted in Lugdunum. RIC I (Second edition) Augustus 207.
