A contemporary forgery of a George III Halfpenny confirmed by Greg Spink of Spinks London. Apparently common around this possible date of 1775 (the last digit in exergue is not fully identifiable). The most identifying detail is the bust which is not George III in comparison to any of the issues. Obverse shows uniformed bust facing right with GEORGIVS III REX. Reverse shows Britannia seated left with BRITAN NIA.

Copper alloy coin. A round flan and hence possibly milled, of the size of a Georgian halfpenny but retaining no clear detail, encrusted. The state of this probably recent coin is similar to that of the degraded larger module Roman coins from the vicinity, a fact which may reflect a subsequent local agricultural regime and its deleterious effect upon field finds. Suggested date: probably Post-Medieval, 1700-1800 Diameter: 27.3mm, Weight: 7.41gms

A worn copper alloy milled coin, perhaps a Georgian halfpenny, which has been flattened and defaced with a crude cross on one face. It probably dates from AD 1729 - 1807 but may have been altered and reused later. It is crudely divided into quarters on one side to form a cross, with short incised lines. The flan is worn smooth on both sides obliterating any identifying features other than what may be a faint outline of Britannia facing left and the letters "ORG" on what is probably the obverse. The dimensions are; diameter 28.2mm, thickness1.8mm and the weight is 7.8g.
