A clipped imitation of a medieval gold quarter noble of Edward III (1327-1377). The obverse shows annulets on the cusps of the tressure and a lis in the centre of the reverse suggesting the prototype was a quarter noble of Edward III's Treaty Period, the annulets seen in the 'Transitional Series' of 1361-3 (North 1224), the lis seen in the Treaty Series of 1363-9 (North 1243-4). However, there are a number of differences: the inscriptions on both obverse and reverse vary from the standard legends although are both legible and literate, e.g. GRACIA is spelt in full…

A medieval silver coin of Edwardian/long cross type, probably a halfpenny of Edward III (1327-77), possibly Treaty Series (1361-69), Withers and Withers type 17 (North 1274) on the shape of the bust and weight of coin, mint: London (unclear but most likely).
