An off centre struck and very worn Medieval silver long cross farthing of Edward II (1307-27 AD). Little remains of the obverse legend but EDW can be seen at the start, and the letter 'A' finishes the legend. The reverse shows a long cross patee with three pellets in each quarter and the part-legend [CIVI/]TAS/LO[N/DON]. There are beaded inner circles on both sides of the coin. The coin can be identified as a Withers type 30b-30g and dates from 1310-1314 AD. Cf. North 1991, p38, No. 1070/2.
