Penny of Edward I, class uncertain, weighing 12 grains.
Mint: London
This is one of a hoard of 54 coins (26 groats and 28 pennies) ranging from the reigns of Edward I to Edward IV, although most are from the reigns of Henry VI and Edward IV. The groats are generaly well preserved and unclipped, the pennies showing differing degrees of wear, the earliest pieces are particularly worn. The latest coins are three light weight coinage groats of Edward IV, two from the Bristol mint and one from York bearing the sun initial mark.
