This is the third example of this coin, with obverse legend IMP C DIOCLETIANVS P F AIG, in Sam Moorhead's corpus for RIC. Interestingly, one of the other coins was found in the Harnham Hoard, near Salisbury and now in the Salisbury and South Wiltshire Museum.

Mint of London, AD 286-289 (Reece period 14). The coin is struck on a thin very irregular flan with a striking crack. The coin does have a slightly crude appearance, suggesting that it might be a contemporary copy. The die diameter is 21mm. Reference: RIC volume V part ii, p.472, no.101(5C).
