A Roman radiate of Carausius (AD 286-93), PAX AVG reverse depicting Pax standing left holding olive branch in right hand and long vertical sceptre in left. Mint of London, AD 286-289 (Reece period 14). The coin is struck on a thin very irregular flan with a striking crack. The coin does have a slightly crude appearance, suggesting that it might be a contemporary copy. The die diameter is 21mm. Reference: RIC volume V part ii, p.472, no.101(5C). This coin is included in Sam Moorhead's corpus for RIC.
