A copper alloy Roman coin; a radiate of Carausius (AD 286 - 293), dating from AD 292 - 293 (Reece Period 14), PAX AVG reverse type depicting Pax with a transverse sceptre. Mint of London with mint mark S P//MLXXI. As RIC V, pt 2, p. 474, no. 118, but with cuirassed bust right. A number of this coin are known, although not listed in RIC. The coin is 23.8mm diameter, 2.2mm thick and 3.88g. This coin is included in Sam Moorhead's corpus for RIC.
