The neck extends in a long curving bow-like section behind the head, it is decorated on its front surface with two parallel grooves; the bow terminates in a rounded flange also for attachment. Stylistically the closest parallels come in the form of Late Iron-Age fire-stands such as that from Baldock, Herts.

Sherd from shoulder of a wide-mouthed jar. Of 'Belgic' fabric, perhaps grog-tempered, with strong 'sandwich' effect - a thin dark grey/brown surface layer over a thin red layer, with a thick mid grey/brown centre. Decorated with two raised cordons set in grooves, one at the angle between the rounded shoulder and the upright rim, and the other further down the shoulder. Late Iron Age or early Roman, first century AD.

Rim sherd from a small biconical bowl. Hand-made, and decorated with a band of incised decoration above the shoulder. The surviving fragment of decoration consists of a horizontal line at the top, then four oblique lines running one way and four the other to form a V shape. Early Anglo-Saxon, probably sixth century AD. The bowl originally had a rim diameter of 90 mm, which is too small for a cremation urn; it may have been domestic pottery but it is perhaps most likely, given the size of this fragment, that the vessel was a grave-good in an inhumation burial.

Sherd of stamp-decorated Ipswich ware, from a spouted pitcher; a stub of the spout survives. There are two stamps on the sherd. One is a long chevron, 12 mm wide and 22 mm long, with three longitudinal lines and three horizontal lines forming a lattice. One complete stamp of this shape and part of a second survive. The other stamp is a circle 10 mm in diameter, again with two to three lines crossing at right angles. Only one of these stamps survives, at the point of the complete chevron; it is less deeply impressed than the chevrons.

The sherd is a body fragment. The fabric has a grey core but where the exterior surfaces are brown the core becomes a grey/brown colour. The interior surface is black with a small patch or light red/brown colour showing. The exterior has two colours which don't change gradually but with a strong line, and they don't match where the colour changes on the interior. One colour is light red/brown colour, the other dark grey. Possibly the dark grey and black are due to smoke. Leeching has occurred.

One rim fragment of fine ware. The rim is quite angular in profile with a slight bead on the upper surface towards the interior edge. A curve in the body of the sherd near the rim suggests there was a hole made before firing. The hole would have been at least 6mm wide. The exterior surface also has moulded decoration in the form of a vertical column. The fabric is grey, but the interior surface is orange. Despite being a fine ware there are some angular quartz-like inclusions.
