Two sherds of the same vessel. They are part of a 2nd century Roman household coarse ware vessel, possibly a beaker. The fabric is light grey and the clay was tempered with small stones and grit. The bottom sherd and body sherd fit together (comp. picture).
Measurements: 1. (body sherd) LE: 905mm, WI: 77mm, Thickness: 5mm, 2. (bottom sherd) LE: 770mm, WI: 42mm, Thickness: 6mm

Four pottery sherds which were probably part of a cremation burial and were found in the same area as cremated bone and four iron nails.
1. Body sherd of samian ware from a large vessel. The pink fabric is fine and hard and the slip is red. It is 42mm in length, 48mm wide, 11mm thick and weighs 25.04g.
2. Body sherd of coarse pottery, possibly from a cooking vessel, but otherwise could be a prehistoric sherd. The fabric is coarse and beige. It is 39mm in length, 18mm wide, 8mm thick and weighs 3.76g.
