2 Sherds from different vessels of Roman grey-ware, possibly New Forest ware. The breaks on both sherds are old and worn. 1) Undecorated rim sherd with quartz (sand) inclusions measuring 27.29mm by 22.74mm, with a maximum thickness of 9.45mm. A worn vessel rim sherd from a wheel-made medieval pottery jar or cooking pot. The unglazed fabric is a medium sandy one with some micaceous inclusions and sparse organic material. On the external face particularly the light yellow-brown fabric has oxidised; the core is grey. The rim is slightly everted and beaded; internal is a small ridge - seating for a lid. This sherd dates from the later centuries of the medieval period.

A worn rim sherd from a Roman flanged bowl (3rd or 4th century AD). The fabric is Oxfordshire red colour coated ware. It has a grey core with micaceous inclusions, and has oxidised to orange on its external surfaces. The sherd is roughly rectangular with an external ridged step, or flange, just over half way down the sherd from the plain rim. In profile one can see the curve of the sherd and the maximum thickness of the flange - c. 9.4mm. The colour coat has survived internally, although it has been worn away in places.

A pair of worn body sherds from Bronze Age vessels. They are both fairly angular in form, with five 'sides'. Their clay has been tempered abudantly with quite fine flint. Both sherds have become partly oxidised, on their external surfaces particularly: the larger to a red-orange colour which contrasts with the black internally. The sherds' dimensions are, respectively: L.: 34.65mm, W.: 28.2mm, Th.: 8.8mm, Wt.: 9.8g; L.: 30.55mm, W.: 26.0mm, Th.: 7.0mm, Wt.: 5.9g.

A pair of worn base sherds from the same greyware Roman strainer, probably specifically a colander. They both are of a sandy brown fabric with some micaceous inclusions. They are brown in colour with dark brown coated exteriors. One, the larger, is curved: there is an angle of around forty five degrees between body and base. A worn and abraded rim sherd from a large late Iron Age or early Roman bead rim jar. The fragment is roughly quadrilateral in shape. The fabric is a coarse, sandy one, with sparse large flint inclusions. It varies from orange to brown in colour. The rim is up to over 22mm thick and 18.75mm deep. The jar may have manufactured in south Hampshire or possibly at the Alice Holt/Farnham kilns on the Hampshire/Surrey border.
